Why We Built This Site
Every booking in this county starts the same way. The Chambers County Sheriff's Office creates the arrest record and the booking photo, and the county's detention facility page is where the current inmate roster is published. Once someone is convicted and moved into state custody, the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) takes over and shares prisoner information through its own search tool. The courts, reached through the Chambers County Circuit Clerk, keep the files that show what happened after booking, from amended charges to final outcomes. Anything still unaccounted for falls to a records request, a right that Alabama Code 36-12-40 extends to every citizen.
None of that is obvious to a person searching late at night. Knowing which system holds which record takes local knowledge most families simply have not needed before. So we collected the official sources, the lookup steps, and the request paths for Chambers County and explained them in plain language in a single spot. One point deserves repeating: this website holds no photo galleries of its own.
What You Will Find Here
The site is deliberately small. Every page exists to lead you somewhere official.
- The county search guide on the home page walks the full path, including the inmate roster, warrant information, and how booking photo records are handled.
- 24 Hour Arrests explains where the newest bookings appear and how quickly they show up.
- Arrest Log takes the longer view, from recent entries to older log requests.
- VINELink Check shows how to sign up for custody and release notifications.
- City pages cover the county's three largest towns: Valley recent arrests, Lanett recent arrests, and LaFayette recent arrests.
The Limits We Work Within
This is a private website with no connection to the Chambers County Sheriff's Office, the detention facility, the courts, the ADOC, or any other government body. Stating that independence plainly matters, because it sets honest limits on what we can do for you.
- We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
- We cannot post a bond, arrange a jail visit, or add money to an inmate's account.
- We cannot give legal advice, however simple the question seems.
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or address listed here is still current.
Only the Chambers County Sheriff's Office, the detention facility, or the corrections agency holding a person can confirm custody status, charges, or a release. We can point you toward the right roster or locator, but the official answer always comes from them.
Our Search Partners
Several pages here include search boxes operated by outside providers. Those companies set their own pricing and decide what their tools return, and we control neither. When a search leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee. That modest income is what keeps these guides free to read, and it never changes what we write about the official sources.
